The Chariot

The Chariot stands for victory achieved through will power. It is all about hard control. It symbolises victory through combat, you win, they lose.

Yet, is this control ultimately satisfying? The chariot is drawn by sphinxes that look away from each other. The charioteer holds them together in a tense balance through his willpower alone.

In readings, the card signifies that a person is successfully controlling some situation through willpower. The situation contains contradictions and opposing forces, but the person is forcing them to follow their will. Things are held under control. How much strength does this need?

If the reading deals with outcomes or problems, it will indicate success.

Reversed, it implies that the control through willpower has failed. The situation is out of control. You need to find another way, or disaster awaits.
