48 - Queen of Cups

Queen of Cups

The Queen of Cups is probably the most balanced of all the court cards. She shows us how we can combine ideas and creativity with action to create useful work. Her throne sits on land signifying her connection to the outer world. Her feet are in water signifying the inner self of emotions and imagination.

Her cup is elaborate, her own creation, showing us what can be achieved when we get the balance right.

As a person, she is loving, tenderhearted, intuitive, spiritual and psychic. She is compassionate, patient and her reactions are guided by her feelings.

In readings, ask yourself whether someone like her is involved in your situation. Think like she does - are you aware of the emotional climate, do you feel loving, do you trust your heart.

Reversed, the balance is broken and someone ambitious and dangerous emerges. She cannot be trusted. With too much imbalance, she can become depraved, dishonourable, out of control.
