The Page is younger than the knight and so does not suffer the same extremes of responsibility and desire. He is a child and fantasy and dreaming are very much what we expect children to do. He quietly contemplates his cup, the fish signifying imagination looking back at him.

The fish can signify psychic talents and sensitivity. Since the Pages signify learning, this could be about someone developing psychic abilities.
