The World
The World is the final card in the Major Arcana. It represents the end of the journey to higher enlightenment. This journey began with the Fool, a young and naïve yet innocent person. He/she has developed both their inner and out selves, has confronted the depths of darkness within the mind and has emerged whole and balanced. Innocence is now united with wisdom. As such, The World represents freedom and rapture. Our outer self is now unified with the forces of life. The inner and outer aspects of our mind, as represented by The Magician and The High Priestess are re-combined. Unity is achieved. The symbols (as on The Wheel of Fortune) vanish and change to form the dancing spirit.
In readings, it is a sign that you are in a position to realise your heart's desire. Satisfaction, success and achievement lie within your grasp. It can mean a feeling of a good sense of being, a balance of inner and outer senses. But remember, to hold the world in our hands, we must give ourselves to it.
Reversed, it means stagnation. Your potential for inner growth is blocked by circumstance or by yourself.
